Electrical are able to provide highly skilled and experienced office and
site-based management personnel to successfully execute the clients requirements. Major projects are planned and directed by key personnel from inception. Contract planning, purchasing and contingencies are integrated into necessary systems and programmes for the duration and smooth running of the project. The site foreman on each contract is responsible for the electrical works, is authorised to make decisions and report back on progress to the contract manager daily. Regular reporting on team meetings and work progress ensues the smooth implementation of the contract site work. |
| Sub Contractors |
| Metric
will, with the agreement of the client employ-approved specialist contractors
to carry out works that are not within Metric's area of expertise, e.g.
Specialist in connection with, but not limited to; • Heavy Lifting • Scaffold Erection • Air Conditioning The appraisal and assessment of prospective sub contractors is provided for within Metric's quality control procedures. As a construction line accredited company Metric Electrical and Plumbing UK will carry out audits on specialist contractors used during the period of a contract where their expertise is employed. |
| Planning |
| Metric
recognise the importance of limiting operational down time to clients and
our objective is to complete all works ON TIME AND WITHIN BUDGET reporting
back to when/if extraordinary factors affect schedules and/or budget. Prior to the commencement of each project, discussions with the client are held to identify and agree the following: - • Planning required in consideration of the project content, complexity and duration. • Updating and development of the overall project inclusive, to detailed short-term and long term programming. • Compatibility of the systems to be used with the overall project master plan, computer based system or otherwise. |
| Plant & Equipment |
| Metric
provides and maintains plant and equipment of sufficient quantity and quality. Portable tools and equipment are inspected and tested periodically in accordance with Codes of Practice and Legislation. Test Instruments and equipment are maintained and calibrated in line with Metric's quality procedures and current legislation. Site workshops and storage units are generally of metal container construction for security purposes and placed on site with the agreement of the client and removed at the finish of the contract. Where necessary, supplementary major plant is hired from reputable plant hire companies e.g. specialist scaffolding and lifting services are hired or sub contracted. All Metric personnel using lifters / forklift trucks etc hold valid licenses for the equipment and are re-tested in accordance with the time periods set out by the current legislation. |
| Inspection & Testing |
| Metric
inspect, test and issue appropriate certification and documentation in accordance
with BS7671 Regulations and also regulations for fire alarm and emergency
lighting respectively. We
provide skilled technicians with the experience covering inspection and
testing of installed electrical and process control systems in areas classified
hazardous and non-hazardous. All
metric employees are trained in accordance with health and safety at work
act 1974, Electricity at work regulations 1989 and other relevant legislation. |
| Design |
| An experienced and skilled engineering and design team enables Metric to offer an 'in house' multi service design capability to all sectors of the mechanical and electrical industry. |
| Highly trained and selected members of the management team are available to Design and Verify all aspects of Electrical and Plumbing works in accordance with the fore-mentioned governing bodies. |
